Message from the Board

This year we are hosting our major conference and we encourage you to join us in Salt Lake City, Utah! See more details below.

Foundation Mission Statement

The mission of the Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) is to promote exploration, learning, outreach and the exchange of scientific and technical ideas, breakthroughs and accomplishments, and to provide an array of educational and interactive experiences and events. The Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) engages this vision on a variety of fronts, including the Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC), the flagship, international conference on applied superconductivity, and ELEVATE, our integrated thrust to promote educational opportunities, professional & leadership development, and outreach between our scientific community and society. The ASEF will continue to collaborate with the IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC) and partner with the  IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity through IEEE Xplore.  The ASEF is a  US 501 (c) 3 organization.

ASC 2024 Conference

On behalf of our organizing team, we are excited to invite you to join us at the Salt Palace Convention Center for the 2024 ASC Conference to be held September 1 – 6, 2024. Salt Lake City is a wonderful venue for our conference! The city is vibrant and offers numerous good restaurants, welcoming hotels and housing opportunities, and sights to explore (Utah is home to several, breathtaking national parks).
Our program chairs, Tiina Salmi and Hélène Felice, are preparing an excellent and exciting scientific program focused on the present and future of applied superconductivity and the numerous impacts our scientific endeavors can have on society at large.
In parallel, Anna Fox is leading our effort with the ELEVATE program offering opportunities for all participants for growth of both technical and professional skills. The ELEVATE program offers numerous opportunities for students and early career scientists to network and discover what a career in applied superconductivity might look like.
Overarching themes dear to us and connecting both the technical program and the ELEVATE program are our commitment to sustainability and to promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the scientific realm.
I hope to see you all at ASC 2024 in Salt Lake City!

ASC 2024 ELEVATE

Researchers within the field of Applied Superconductivity require a broad and diverse skill set, both technical and professional.  As the premier congregation of leaders and influencers within this field of study, the Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) champions the continued growth of our community through our ELEVATE program.  Educational opportunities encompass best practices in technical research activities, as well as reviewing scientific abstracts, delivering good scientific presentations and wisely moderating conference sessions. ELEVATE also includes curated outreach activities to share the wonders of science with students of all ages during the technical conference and in the off season.  Also through the program we gain clarity through educating our membership on the continued importance of promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the scientific realm.

Whether you are a student, industry partner or seasoned researcher, the program organizers strive ‘to elevate’ your conference experience and your connection to our community. All ELEVATE activities are designed to enrich the field of Applied Superconductivity and those who interact within it, not just our bi-annual conference, but everyday.

Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation - ELEVATE

ELEVATE supports the Foundation’s core mission through educational outreach to communities and by providing opportunities for professional and leadership development underpinned by four fundamental pillars that are focused on involvement, networking, enrichment, and representation. The program aims at providing experiences and mechanisms through which people connect, learn, build career pathways and accelerate technological growth.
