Author Information

The manuscript submission site is now open.  The manuscript submission deadline is Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (IEEE-TAS) now identifies articles with article numbers.  That means that authors have the opportunity to have their article published online soon after it has been accepted for publication! Based on statistics from recent ASC and MT conferences, we expect the average article to appear online 90 days from the submission date. The final ASC 2014 Special Issue is scheduled to be published in June 2015, collecting all of the articles selected for publication.

Faster publication means that your material will reach fellow Conference attendees while it is still fresh in their memory. Recent changes to the IEEE-TAS editorial policies and the procedures for submitting and reviewing articles are meant to facilitate this process. By paying careful attention to the new policies and procedures, and promptly addressing all issues raised during peer review, you should expect publication of your ASC 2014 article to fall within the time frame above.

Requirements for publication: IEEE-TAS publishes selected articles based on the outcome of peer review. The Special Issue is not a proceedings of the conference, and attendance and presentation at the conference does not guarantee publication of a manuscript. Presentation of the work at the conference at the scheduled time is a requirement for publication. The submitted manuscript is also expected to discuss the work presented at the conference.

The publication process: The links below give more details about the important aspects of the publication process. Often, issues completely under control of the author contribute to publication delays for many papers.

  • The manuscript will be checked for material re-use and suitability for peer review. Please review the Editorial Policies, which includes IEEE policies about plagiarism and material re-use.
  • If accepted for publication, Final files will be requested. Final files include:
    • The clean final copy of source files and a pdf conversion;
    • The IEEE Copyright Form.
      • If not submitted electronically via the manuscript submission site, copyright forms must be submitted to the ASC 2014 Editorial Office either by fax (001-303-499-2599) or by email. IEEE will NOT publish manuscripts without a copyright form. The copyright form can be downloaded here in PDF or Word format.
      • In some cases, authors should request the appropriate person at their institution or affiliated organization to submit a permission form (the agreement is prepared by the institution or affiliated organization). These organizations include: Consorzio RFX, Fusion for Energy, Euratom, ITER, KIT. If you are not sure whether you are required to submit a permission form, please inquire with the legal affairs or publication department at your organization prior to submitting your manuscript to start the permission form completion process.
